The La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway is located at N4985 County Road M (near the intersection of Highway 16 and County M). La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway is a family-friendly entertainment venue, providing thrills, spills, action and excitement throughout the summer. NASCAR Style Late Model racing, plus Grand National Sportsmen and Thunderstox cars race weekly at the track on two separate paved ovals–an outer 5/8th mile and inner 1/4 mile. In addition to the main divisions of racing, additional divisions such as the Hornets or Outlawz may be scheduled or a stunt or novelty event that thrills everyone in the grandstands. This track has been in operation for over 50 years and continues to be an important entertainment venue for the La Crosse area community. The Saturday night NASCAR racing action starts at 7:30 p.m. while qualifying begins at 6:15. Friday night Street Drags (2nd Friday of each month-May through September) also takes place and also starts at 7:30 p.m. The fun of Street Drags is that anyone with a car and a driver’s license may come out and participate on the track for bragging rights, trophies, and fun times. The Speedway is also the host of the prestigious Oktoberfest Race Weekend which is held the fifth weekend following Labor Day. Visit for a complete detailed list of events.
